Late Shift

ONE ACT - Bonnie has been working the late shift at Don's Diner for the past twenty years. It has been her second home and a source of pride. Tonight is Joe's first day as a cook at Don's Diner and he's late. As these two clash waiting for a 2:00 a.m. rush that may not ever happen, they discover that hopes and dreams come too late for some, and sometimes people are too late in their lives to make a shift.

Late Shift is an exploration of the ruts that people get into, the petty day-to-day minutia that becomes exponentially important, and the tragedy of unrealized dreams as people wait for The Moment.

Some of the biggest laughs of the night were found in Kate Danley’s “Staging”...This One Act kept the action whizzing by, barely giving us time to catch our breaths between laughs.

Songs and theater references abound in this very funny play.
